Sherina is not the first Esken to escape, but she is the only one that survived.

Sherina is fitted with a control device and sold to a powerful Langon family when she it twelve. At seventeen, she takes the only chance she will ever have and begs explorers from Earth for sanctuary. It almost works. Stranded with the wild Eskens, she and Elien, a young man from Earth, begin a new life. Soon the humans return to claim this world. Both Sherina and Elien find themselves leaders in the struggle to free the slaves.

Sherina's Dream is the story of a young woman's determination to overcome the limits society places on her, whether it is living as a slave in a space faring society, a wife and mother in a primitive culture, or a leader in a revolution.
