Feels a little immodest starting a new discussion topic just to introduce myself, but I've been encouraged to do so nonetheless.
I'm someone who sees creative writing like a kind of "exercise for the imagination". Everyone should do it, regularly. But I also see an underlying philosophy in creative writing, that suggests that perhaps the reality that exists in our heads (whether we write or not) has a value that rivals that of the material world. That fiction allows us to explore reality in a way that is just as profound as living "in the real world" or "hard" philosophy. I'm an unabashed existentialist and love Fernando Pessoa and Miland Kundera.
My material self resides on a sailboat in Southern Spain. My alter ego is a development aid consultant. But I only let him out on special occasions these days.
I have two works up for workshopping: The short story, "Sepp" and something that may one day grow into a novel, "Celestin".

Hi, Momo
Thought I'd come and say that, since you introduced yourself proper.
Hope your writing goes well!
