I'm enjoying them myself. Like the part where I can make all of my comments purple...

Yay! So excited for the YA section! @Nevena: is that purple color special for moderators? Lol, it's pretty, but readable and stands out. Oh my goodness, I'm excited. I know the BC community will come up with some great starter discussions. I'm too overwhelmed right now, I don't know what to say!

Good morning fellow writers. I am brand new to this forum and site. I love to write Nd don't even care whatht it is. But has always been my dream to publish a book. My favorite is children's....is that here on this page? I don't know where to start and am hoping you all can help me.

Hey Nana! I think there's a children's category around here. I could be mistaken and thinking of elsewhere, though. What age group are you considering?

Hi @Nana! Welcome to Book Country! We are so excited to have you here with us, and we are also very excited to have all the YA categories that we recently added to the site. We do have "Middle Grade" YA here as a literary category, and middle-grade is typically 5th-8th grade (so, ages of about 9-13). As of this time we do not have "kids" as a younger category. However, most kids who read tend to "read up"--so a book meant for a 9 year old is often read by a 7-year-old with no problems. (8th graders, even though that's often middle school in many schools, are also reading up, so they are more likely to read YA.)
Is this helpful information? It's definitely very open to debate, too. What does everyone else think?
For right now, @Nana, I would post your work in "Middle Grade." The community here on Book Country can help give you feedback on what age it feels like it's written for, too, as well as any other feedback you are looking for during this draft.
Really, really looking forward to seeing what you are working on!

@Nana--I wanted to correct myself on the forum above. When I was trying to explain Middle Grade, I had it wrong. Middle Grade is really more like 3rd-6th grade (ages 9-12). YA would be readers 12+.
(I'd been thinking Middle Grade was like middle school, but obviously I goofed that!)
Just wanted to clarify. Happy writing!
