Well, the only one I've read is Redshirts and I thought it was both spectacularly original and interesting, so I'd have to vote for it. However, that said, it's hard not to imagine Captain Vorpatril's Alliance being solid, so it's tough to call.

I've recently read and enjoyed 2312 and found it thoroughly absorbing starting from the description of the precarious life on the surface of fiery Mercury. It's a 550 page novel with tremendous descriptive passages. It would certainly get my vote.
