Do you all remember this excellent blog post Therese Walsh of Writer Unboxed wrote for us last year about BookBub? I learned so much from it.
Therese goes even more in depth with BookBub on Writer Unboxed today--you should definitely check this out.

Something to be aware of with Bookbub-- they require a minimum number of reviews of a book before they will consider promoting it. That's a huge hurdle for beginning authors because you may have to sell hundreds of books to get even a few reviews. They need to promote so they can increase sales, but until they have steady sales, they can't promote. Also, Bookbub is not a free promotional site. Depending on the genre, it can be quite expensive to run a promotion.
All that said, they are generally considered to be the gold standard among book promotion sites.

Yeah, BookBub wouldn't touch my book, mostly because it only had about a dozen reviews. Some of the books featured there have HUNDREDS of reviews. BookBub is supposed to be the best, but it's sort of stupefying to think that with hundreds of good reviews, authors are still lining up to pay a lot of money for a one time promotional jolt.
