Just found out the historic town of Williamsburg, Virginia will have its own (modern) book festival on October 3rd. And it's free! See the link for more information. If you haven't been to the area, Williamsburg and nearby Yorktown make for a great vacation if you are "into" American history. I have no idea on the quality of the book festival, but considering the other nearby writer's conferences seem to charge almost $300 to attend, I think this makes for a fine day trip. I mean, anytime writers get together - can it be that bad? Of course not! If you are attending, look me up. I'll be the introvert wearing the bow tie, silently creating plot lines as I people watch! Plus, I'll probably have a nametag. (Did I mention the Williamsburg Winery is not too far away?)
