I just finished reading today's New York Times profile on Julie Strauss-Gabel, the publisher of Dutton Children's Books, and I am amazed by her success! She has edited 22 New York Times best sellers, including John Green's THE FAULT IN OUR STARS. She's known for her intense critiques. Adam Gidwitz, the author of A TALE DARK AND GRIMM, said: "She goes through the book and tells me everything that's terrible about it in very insightful ways."
Even though it's tough to hear harsh critiques about your book, it definitely pays off!
