Charles Highway from The Rachel Papers, by Martin Amis. He is one of my favorite characters: conceited, insecure, hilarious and reflective.

Boo Radley.  He needs a valentine.

Then that case I shall give a valentine to Harley Quinn from the Batman comics. Even comic book characters (and crazy people) need love too! biggrin

Definitely David Dylan from the Cityscape Series by Jessica Hawkins.  He'll always be my favorite book boyfriend.

I'd personally like to give a Valentine to Rylan Saintcrow from Amanda Ashley's "As Twilight Falls" in hopes that I could spend some time in Morgan Creek. I sure could use a vacation from the rest of the world. And since Morgan Creek isn't on any map, it would be easy to get lost! Sure I might be ravished every now and again, but being "his willing prisoner" is a small price to pay for a little R & R at the most exclusive house in all of the American West!

Death, from Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's Good Omens. I'm sure the poor guy never gets a valentine, and really, it's about time. Plus, think of all the great death-related puns that would work on the front of a valentine's card!

I would have to give my Valentine to Beldin from the Belgariad/Mallorean by David Eddings.  Love that  cantankerous old sorcerer!

I have to say Mr. Darcy, but it has to be Colin Firth's Mr. Darcy. I read P&P a few years ago and don't recall being knocked out by the book Darcy. Maybe I'd better read it again.

Humbert Humbert.  Not a romantic valentine, but just because. It's a tribute to Nabokov's genius that you can feel sorry for Humbert while despising him.

Mr. Darcy! ... I don't care if it's cliche' ... MR. DARCY!

I would send an anonymous valentine to Sherlock Holmes. He would spend hours puzzling out who sent it and why.

The character I would give a Valentine to is a character I know not many people are not familiar with. Her name

is Candy Marshall.  She is the hero in "A Gathering of Old Men" a  Ernest J. Gaines novel.

Candy Marshall will you be my Valentine.
