Short Bio:
Mr. Parola is a long-time resident of Hawai'i and is "married-in" to an ohana with a lengthy heritage. After a career in academia and the private sector, with years in the Middle East, he has returned to Hawai'i to immerse himself in the culture and history of the Islands.
His favorite genres are Mysteries (with a nautical turn), and Historical Romance. He enjoys the challenge of writing short stories and has published three collections reflecting his travels and cultural interests. 'Portraits of a Young Artist in Istanbul' in the collection, The Little American Blonde, won a First Place award in 2010.
His latest novel, Lehua, Ka'ao a ka Wahine (Lehua, the Story of a Woman) won a national competition and a "Seal of Good Writing Award" in 2013.
