Although I'm known for my humor and essay writing, I'm told you're not supposed to confuse your brand by suddenly writing horror novels. Or superhero comedies. Or any of the other novel ideas I've had that I've been told aren't a good fit for my public persona. So I'm hoping this space can absorb the output I have for other types of stories, even if I eventually have to publish them under a pseudonym.
I particularly like humor, and I find a lot of fantasy takes itself more seriously than I can manage. If there were ten Christopher Moores out there writing supernatural absurdities, I'd never have to read anything else. But seriously, in genre humor, there's Chris Moore, Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, Carl Hiaasen, and precious little else on the goodreads "humor novel" lists. That needs to change!
