I've been a lifelong reader of mostly fiction, but a few historical biographies have caught my eye. I loved Manhunt, by James Swanson, and I'm a loyal fan of Victor Davis Hanson. I enjoy books set in WWII, and contemporary mysteries, like Gone Girl. My tastes run all over the map.
My first book, Esplanade, takes place in Boston, and begins during the famous concert on July 4th at the Esplanade, in the Hatch Shell by the Charles River. Deputy Superintendent Maddie Fortune has been given control of the security of a level 4 BioLab in Boston. Politically, the lab is a hot potato. The dangers of the pathogens in the lab are not lost on the neighbors that are protesting its opening, nor the one brilliant student who harbors a lifelong grudge against the FBI agent who put his father in jail. It is up to Maddie to stop the student from his murderous quest, one that would also expose four hundred thousand revelers to the deadliest biological threat any city has ever faced.
Enjoy!
