I try to write 1000 words a day. It's the first thing I do after I eat dinner in the evening and I'm not allowed to have any "fun" until the writing is done. Sometimes the writing takes over becomes the fun, and that's all right too.
I read every day. I read a variety of genres and believe that helps me as a writer by preventing me from getting stuck in a rut or particular genre.
I am the author of Open Your Heart with Quilting (Dreamtime, 2008), an inspirational “why to” for new and experienced quilters. I am also the author of How to Build, Maintain, and Use a Compost System (Atlantic, 2011), a complete composting how-to for any gardener. From 2010 to 2011, I was Senior Editor of Quilters Newsletter magazine. I currently work as a Technical Writer, and live with my husband and two cats.
