I prefer to read classics; I love Hermann Hesse, George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, Isaac Asimov and Ayn Rand. For newer works, I like Neil Gaiman, Alan Moore, Irvine Welsh, Douglas Adams and Salman Rushdie.
I also read nonfiction philosophy (although it could be argued that classifying philosophy as nonfiction is a tenuous statement.) Some of my favorite philosophers include Wittgenstein, Ayn Rand and her intellectual heir Leonard Peikoff, Karl Popper, Aristotle, Nietzsche, Ken Wilber, and I am currently quite enjoying "Godel, Escher, Bach" by Hofstadter.
I write to impress myself, so I am sorry if you don't enjoy it. The Val Gedso project was an attempt to integrate as many different genres and forms of writing to make an organic, metaphorical thought project. I prefer to write in stream of consciousness, first person perspective. I think this perspective allows authors to deal with the epistemological problem directly. I also write some poetry and failed attempts at philosophy.
