I first became fascinated by the idea of writing in Kindergarten after I spotted a computer in acorner of the room. I soon found myself obsessing over the thought of using the computer to create...well, anything. I would write short stories--really, nothing more than a couple of stunted paragraphs--on that computer every morning throughout the year. As I continued through school, I became inspired by my three favorite childhood authors: R.L. Stine, K.A. Applegate, and J.K. Rowling. I found myself trying to emulate their styles while also attempting to develop my own. This led to me writing "The Indigo Chronicles, " a book series about a group of teenagers who regularly encounter the paranormal. The series started as a single Young Authors' competition entry in the eighth grade, but eventually expanded as I continued to write more books surrounding the same group of characters. The series is made up of roughly a hundred individual titles, most of which have yet to be written.
