When I read, I look for things in a book/novel that might be cliche, or really good things that make the book stand out from the mundane norm. It helps to look at other books to see what it was that got it published.
When I write, I try to keep the audience interested. So far all I have done is journalism and columns for the local paper. Now I am trying to write my first novel.
My writing tends to define me as a person. Draws you in, makes you want to know more, and then when you finally finish figuring everything out, you feel like you've done something worth the time you spent.
I myself as a person, am a puzzle. I am difficult to understand from first conversations. But the more you talk to me, the more you begin to see everything that has made me who I am today. You begin to see that my writing is much the same as myself.
My writing gives me a purpose, and I hope that my novel will be as great as other fantastic authors such as Christine Feehan and Sherilyn Kenyon.
