My background is in journalism so I can write strong dialogue. I also have strong narrative craft and technique. When I was growing up, even as a 10 year old, I used to tell stories to my younger siblings every evening. I became so good at it that they would give me their allowances in return. They could never get enough so sometimes, just to get some sleep, I would say, "and the character suddenly died." When they couldn't stop crying I resurrected the character. This daily ritual gave me the best training in creating characters and telling stories. My first book was non-fiction but I've always loved "fiction" writing. I've also always had an idea for a children's book in an African setting. I'm just finishing my first one and I'm really enjoying the journey.
