I read everything, classic to modern, nonfiction to science fiction, winnowing the good from the bad, learning all the time. Writing legal briefs has been an excellent way to learn the craft of prose, and how to turn fact into fiction. I write novels of ordinary people facing extraordinary situations, the way life seems to treat us all. After getting my truth out of me in three execrable attempts, "The Pastures of Heaven" was published to unanimously good reviews. His next novel, "Fulfillment of Promise" involves the same protagonist as in Pastures, but at an earlier time, and explores the deepest motivations within us all.
