I want to read things that are honest and true and that blow my mind--and that's also what I want to write. I'm steeped in the literature of nineteenth-century America, and so naturally I'm fascinated with contemporary fantasy and sci-fi that plumbs the depths of the human condition. I like things that make me think about the world in a new way. And I like things that tell the truth.
