Recapturing health, vision and a love for literature has made this new chapter in my life more exciting than I ever thought possible. Stepping out of the classroom has given me the quiet time to listen to the stories within and the reading time to discover the stories all around me.Things don't happen as quickly as they used to due to complications from my two chronic conditions, Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) and Crohn's disease, but I'm a patient girl and words are always worth the wait.
I've reignited my love for writing through participation in writing groups via my blog, Rivera Runs Through It. In my eyes, finding Book Country is the next step on this journey! I am truly excited.
Reading has been a journey of heartbreak and recovery over the last couple of years as my optic nerves were damaged from IIH and left me unable to read the printed page. Audiobooks and eBooks became my salvation until last month when I found my way back to a book without blur or pain!
