I have been writing for more years than I used to think, but was rather more successful before I thought of it as 'writing'. My work tends to be better the less I think of it: until several years have passed, I have no perspective.
I tend to read most in the 'literary' genre, but write in the commercial genres that I loved and still love. I've been trying to read more of what I write, but because of my educational background, I'm hyper-sensitized to the techniques and crafts behind the story, and I hate sloppiness.
