Most but not all of my fiction fits comfortably under the broad canopy of mystery-suspense.My instructional column ran for 14 years in Writers Digest, and I've published six books for writers. At present I contribute a monthly column to Linn's Stamp News and have been publishing remembrances of writer friends in Mystery Scene. My latest novels are A Drop of the Hard Stuff, featuring Matthew Scudder, and Getting Off, with the open pen name of Lawrence Block writing as Jill Emerson.
I've been self-publishing short stories for Kindle and Nook, and Open Road has brought out 40+ of my backlist titles as eBooks, along with three eRiginals: The Liar's Bible and The Liar's Companion (two new books for writers) and the just-published Afterthoughts, a piecemeal memoir of my early writing years. Pub date for Afterthoughts is two days off as I write this, but the book has already outsold an earlier memoir, Step By Step, about racewalking and apparently of interest only to other racewalkers.
