My reading: from cereal boxes to obituaries, anything contain a few facts captures my attention. I'm trying to read more outside my comfort zone such as Murakami (The Wild Sheep Chase) and Doris Lessing (The Golden Notebook). My favorite genre is probably historical fiction but I'd like to learn to enjoy science fiction.
My writing is really just gearing back up. After working full time for twenty-five years, I am suddenly in a position where I have lots of time on my hands. I've taken creative writing classes (many, many years ago) and am taking a correspondence-writing course, plus have joined two writing groups. I'm practicing character/storyline development by editing my NaNoWriMo novel while planning a thriller set in Hong Kong.
