Short Bio:
Barnes Carr is a former reporter and editor for wire services and major market dailies in the US/UK. He's a graduate of Tulane and has lived in New Orleans most of his life.
Carr has a non-fiction book coming out in May 2016, OPERATION WHISPER: THE CAPTURE OF SOVIET SPIES MORRIS AND LONA COHEN, to be published by the University Press of New England. It's a narrative history of the espionage career of an American couple who were the first spies to deliver to Moscow a complete diagram of the first Allied atomic bomb.
Carr is putting together of book of short stories, NEEDLE MAN, based on his experiences in New Orleans during Katrina. The lead story from this collection won a 2013 Gold Medal from the William Faulkner Society.
He's also working on a novel, LETTERS FROM THE FRONT, about an American veteran's painful return home from deployment in the Middle East.
