Reading has been a part of my life since I was old enough to read. Trips to the library with my mother were always exciting. Just the smell of books when entering a library or bookstore is enough to put a smile on my face.
I began writing early as well and even attempted to write my life story at the tender age of five. Poetry called to me as a teenager and I began to keep a notebook full of poems I wrote (embarrassingly bad writing). As those skills improved, I began to get some poetry published.
Eventually, I switched gears and began to write fiction. The first attempts all met with demise as I hit one brick wall after another. An insightful article on writer's block steered me in the right direction and helped me find my niche. As a YA fantasy author I have completed one novel and am a good way into the second book in that trilogy.
Currently, I am a full time college student majoring in Creative Writing. With the MAT I am working toward, I hope to teach high school English.
