Love to read gripping mysteries and other novels that carry me beyond the room I'm in. Fascinated with well-done characters and effective plot construction. The only thing more challenging than writing is not writing--being blocked until I can tease or untangle my way through. Having taught writing, I conduct an ms. reading group. Always glad to hear other people's work and to help where I can. So many writers give up for lack of how to finish a book, get an agent, keep on keeping on. Novel mss. grow from "unfinished business, " which we try to untangle into a finished product.
