I was still in grade school when I perfected the art of walking while reading, and still keep my nose stuck in a book as often and for as long as I can get away with it. I read just about anything, but I'm particularly taken with silly/serious novels (Jasper Fforde's Shades of Grey is a great example).
I love Tudor biographies and read tons of them when I'm in the middle of writing my own stories - I get impatient with other people's worlds when I'm in the middle of creating my own.
I write all the time, especially when I don't have a pen or a computer near me. On the streetcar, while putting my sons to bed, relaxing in the bath, in a boring meeting ... all perfect times to imagine and perfect a scene. It's fun and it really cuts down on the actual fingers-to-keyboard time when I've already re-written the scene five times.
