I got hooked on the Hardy Boys by Franklin W Dixon in the early 70's, and that was that. Then it was Louis L'Amour, Edgar Allen Poe, John D MacDonald, Joseph Wambaugh, Stephen King, Dean Koontz...My writing reflects all of these authors, but my biggest literary hero is the great Russian writer Vladimir Nabokov. He is, in my opinion, the greatest writer of all time. I do not hope to do what he did, but I do hope to show in my writing that I took something from him and his unbelievable works. Lately, I have been working on short stories, in a collection called AROUND THE BLOCK. It is a kaleidoscopic journey through a bunch of my life experiences, imagined and real-it's fiction, after all. Also, I am working on a fictional piece entitled THE UCSB CHRONICLES, in which the lives of a couple of students are exposed and chronicled. The lovely campus in Goleta is the setting, and if you know anything about UCSB-you know it's gorgeous, sexy, maybe a little bit dirty...
