My fiction tends to skew heavily towards "genre" works -- particularly traditional fantasy, space opera, and weird tales. Previously, I would have labeled myself as a fantasy writer, but with "Dark Highlands Anthology, " I've spent the last eighteen months playing almost exclusively in the horror sandbox.
Reading-wise, I tend to focus primarily on non-fiction. Anything involving samurai philosophy, spirituality, or theoretical physics, and I'm hooked. Metaphysics and the paranormal play large roles in my work, which is likely why this is. When I do read fiction, it's mainly of the kind that I write, but I'd say that only 35% of what I read would fall into that category, with 60% being non-fiction, and the remaining 5% being submissions for "Dark Highlands Anthology."
