I am currently working on the first of a series. My main character, Mark Mercer, is an aging major league baseball currently playing for the Boston Red Sox. He is the nephew of famed songwriter/lyracist Johnny Merver and can play all of Uncle Johnny's songs on the piano, and no one else's. He is smart and observant as hell.
My problem with this series, which I call THE FOURTH OUTFIELDER, is that MLB players rarely encounter evil villains. I'm OK on the first one. I don't have good ideas on subsequent ones.
