"The best thing I ever did, was to join a writing critique group. Finally, I was getting some real feedback and constructive advice that dove me into reading about the craft."
In the month of May 2009, Shelly completed SOMETHING IN THE SWAMP, which she completed in five weeks. But the work was just begining and after the fourth draft the title changed to A LIGHT INTO THE DARKNESS. It was draft number eight that was finally uploaded to the publisher and is now going through the process of publication.
"Since then, I've written two more novels, a few articles for Fresh*Ink Magazine (The Colorado Springs Gazette), and a few short stories. 2011 is looking very promising and I wait in excitment to see what's behind the next bend. I'm so thankful for such loving friends and family who continue to support my dreams. I hope to someday return the favor to other first time authors to encourage them to follow their dreams. God Bless."
