I have been an obsessive reader all my life. Ever since I was praised at school for an essay titled '24 Hours In the Life of a Bee, ' I kidded myself I could write. Fooled everyone for long enough to enjoy a long career in journalism. Self-doubt and procrastination are my biggest enemies. I have started three novels: A murder/mystery, historical fiction and contemporary drama. They all remain unfinished, probably because I don't think they're good enough. I know I could spend my life dreaming, re-drafting and plotting but I'm hoping Book Country will encourage me to finally expose my writing to public scrutiny and constructive criticism.
