My writing has been non-fiction and more non-fiction forever -- school newspapers, community weeklies, metropolitan dailies, monthly and online magazines, academic and now corporate communications. It's time for fiction. My first WriteOnCon this past November was a success, and I'm now into the rewrite process (whatever that may be). This is slow (c'mon, it's baseball season), but more fun than I imagined.
As for reading, right now it's mostly non-fiction. Truth be told, it's mostly baseball non-fiction (e.g., The Boys of Summer). I do share middle grade books with my pre-teen (his term, not mine). He's even been kind enough to let me read all his Wimpy Kid books. The rest of my reading is on Twitter (@jcjjh), the morning paper, or online blogs, etc. Oh, and if I'm reading at night, there's a good chance I'll be falling to sleep soon.
