Adam studied literary fiction and journalism at university, where a professor of one writing workshop opened the term by sternly annoucning, "We do not write genre fiction here."
She learned a lot about how to write tight, parse sentences and avoid melodrama and cliches, but at the end of the day, she'll take a good romance over a heavy literary tome any day.
She has yet to publish any full-length works, of the genre or literary variety. However, she has worked as a newspaper reporter at a big-city daily, a magazine editor and a full-time freelance writer and editor. She has also been dabbling with the same historical romance novel now for five years, which should tell you that her writer's block is more like writer's wall.
