I write as I read, and turn out mainly non-gory sci-fi and horror, much of it genre, but with a couple of stand-alone, psychohorror titles sitting on the hard drive.
I also enjoy reading and writing detective fiction. not police procedurals, but the older, Agatha Christie kind. I find putting these tales together to be an intellectual challenge, ensuring that all the innocuous clues are in place and that they add up to a successful conclusion for the amateur sleuth.
Finally, I enjoy writing humour, but again, it's not mainstream. My alter-ego, Flatcap often casts a curmudgeonly eye on the absurdities of the world at large and I'm working on two volumes of his observations which are unlikely to endear him to politicians, salespeople, men, women or anyone else who thinks the world is a wonderful place.
