When I started writing six years ago, I had no idea how much I didn't know. My first visit to a critique group opened my eyes and I set out to learn the craft of writing. After countless conferences, workshops, retreats and classes I'm still learning, and though I have miles to go, I've been fortunate to meet some excellent teachers and critique partners along the way.
I'm a member of SCBWI and the South Carolina Writers Workshop, and recently received my PRO membership in RWA. My paranormal novel, Red Tide, won the YA division of the Heart of the West contest last year, but alas, remains unpublished. I'm currently working on revisions to Red Tide and to an alternate history/fantasy called Adan's Gate, and plotting out a new YA romance.
I love to read and will devour any genre as long as there's a character who grabs my attention and my heart. I like characters who must sacrifice to reach their goals, and endings which surprize me and leave me with a sense of hope.
