Cassandra Hart has been writing since a very young age, beginning with poetry and short stories. Reading opened her world far beyond the small Illinois farming community where she grew up. Her love of the written word led her to earn a journalism degree. She then spent several years as a writer and editor with a Gannett newspaper. A highlight was serving a 4-month stint as a "loaned employee" at USA-Today, writing feature articles with national bylines. Several years after leaving the newspaper world, she woke up with the theme for a short story circling her brain. That turned into three short stories, linked by her love of vintage clothing. Two of those stories eventually merged into her first novel, combining romance, paranormal activity, and a murder mystery from the past. She also worked in her love of acting in community theater productions. Now that the creative writing muse has reawakened, Cassandra hopes to keep nurturing it as writing is just as satisfying as performing!
