I aspire to create the best work I am capable of producing. To quote Roger Rosenblatt, "... not great, not clever, or even brilliant, or most misleading of all, beautiful---it must be useful to the world. Nothing I write matters unless, to paraphrase A.D. Hope, "it moves the human heart".
I could write every day and be happy to play in my world, toy with my characters---and I have done this, but I also want that work to captivate other minds, entertain them and in some way enrich their lives.
I'm interested in writing somewhere between literary work and straight ahead conflict and resolution. I've written screenplays. Most compliments are that my work is visual and nicely balances between the delicate and comforting and the horrific and unnerving, without the latter being gratuitous. Life and fiction contain both.
