I mainly write short horror stories (I have been published previously in Hub, Dark Fiction Magazine and was one of the winners of Black Static's Campaign for Real Fear) but my novels veer towards fantasy - with strong horror elements, funnily enough.
In a mad break with habit my current project is a science-fiction/crime novel called Dead Zoo Shuffle. I am also editing a post-apocalyptic fantasy novel called Ink for Thieves, so I've a lot of editing and redrafting in front of me this year. I write character driven secondary world fantasy, which is a fancy way of saying I like stories about people making their way in extraordinary worlds, with plenty of horror and mystery thrown in for good measure.
Unsurprisingly I read a lot of fantasy, horror, and science-fiction, and would be hard-pressed to tell you which genre was my favourite.
