I have an MFA in playwriting and enjoy reading and writing absurdist plays. However, my true love is fantasy fiction. I've been in love with the genre since I picked up my first ElfQuest comic at the ripe old age of 9. I love epic fantasy - the longer the book the better, but it doesn't all have to be sword and sorcery. Some of my favorite authors are light on the wizardry, like Jacqueline Carey and George R.R. Martin. Really, I like any story that has solid, meaty characters and thoughtful character development. I like books best that surprise me.
In regard to my own writing, I have a finished manuscript for an adaptation of Hamlet, where he is now a she. I've been working on a modern Lovecraftian novella that might become a novel. And I've been worldbuilding an epic fantasy adventure. I also still write plays that get performed at my local theatre.
