I tend to read all over the map, picking up books that are recommended or are top sellers or best reviewed. This has helped a great deal in familiarizing myself with the market but has caused me to lose sight of what I truly LIKE to read. As of late I have discovered a fondness for historical mystery - something I wouldn't dream of writing but love to lose myself in as a reader.
On the writing front, TRAIL OF THE TUDOR BLUE, a romantic suspense, was released in Jan 2011 and has rec'd favorable reviews. DEADLY FARCE, a humorous mystery released winter 2012 from Avalon Books. In spring of that year, Avalon was bought by Amazon, and I'm happy to see DEADLY FARCE now available in paperback and ebook. yay! The second in that proposed series, DEATH NOTES, was workshopped in part here at Book Country and is currently awaiting a verdict from the Thomas & Mercer editors. Meanwhile, I've begun a three-book mystery series with Penguin imprint Berkley Prime Crime - also yay! Now if I could just get my foot in the young adult door!
