I tend to read about 40-50 books a year, fiction and non-fiction. I like some graphic novels and I read a good deal of books from the "literature" section of the bookstore, but my first love is mystery/crime fiction/noir and I'm thrilled that less formulaic stories have started making their way onto the crime shelves.
If I successfully finish getting the current character out of my head an onto paper, she'll fall into the hardboiled/noir sub-genre.
