I got my first library card when I was six years old, and immediately took out six books I'd chosen. I ran home with them, read them, and ran back to the library to exchange them for six new ones. The librarian told me that I couldn't take out any more books on the same day, and I'd have to wait until the next. And so it went. When I was in grad school, my reading was plentiful and proscribed, other than during vacations, when I'd overdose on murder mysteries. These days, I read a variety of fiction, including mysteries; as well as memoir, psychology, and other items as they strike my fancy. I need glasses for reading only, but I keep them on all day long, because you never know when you might encounter something you want to read. I currently write humorous mystery, occasional other fiction, memoir, poetry, and extremely long emails. I founded and write for the zine Creek Road Gang. And my writing group buddies are a source of continuing help, challenge, inspiration and support.
