I read constantly and have been writing from an early age, though seldom for publication. I read mostly non-fiction. Anthropology, paleontology, climotology, plate tectonics. (Get ready for more of that, by the way.) I love reading really old school books, collections of letters written by ordinary people long ago, lists, graffiti, antiquated advertising copy. I like to study maps. I'm fascinated by travel logs from the early (European) explorers of the south seas. Love reading about "primitive" cultures of any time. And mythology? Goes without saying.
Sadly, I am afflicted with the desire to write "literary" fiction about the race I have created, the Kierjhn. I have filled thousands of manuscript pages with tales from their ancient past, their theology, physiology, . I've read bits and pieces to my writer's workshop (thank God for them) and gotten mixed reviews. Some how, there's a young couple in love...
