I've been writing since I was 10. Missing my chance at "the one that got away" steered me toward romance, and since then I've enjoyed thousands of happily ever afters. I prefer contemporary because I think there's magic in the here and now. My favorite heroes and heroines are typical, everyday working people because I can't relate to trust fund babies whose toughest problem is deciding which pair of Manolos to wear to the club. (My most expensive pair of shoes cost $30 from JC Penney, and know what? I love them!) Everyone deserves a Happily Ever After, and I want a reminder--if only for myself--that it can happen to me too, even if I'm not rich and entitled.
